THIS SECTION IS ALL ABOUT JOY

THIS JUST CAME ACROSS MY HEART

my ears

they smile

at the sound of a

bell ringing

my belly

it laughs

at the tune of a

ting-alinging

because a big fat gong

or a jingle-linging

must be the sound of

If we could all learn to live by and with these words...

Infinite Love

by

Moira Banks

The unconditional loving of someone else with thought for
the well being of that significant other

The nurturing of the body, soul, spirit and ego of the
significant other

The lack of the need to control another's behavior

The firm belief that everything connected with that love
will fall into its proper place

A soul mate kind of thing where both persons are infinitely
tender each of the other

Where both persons cherish each other

Where both persons value each other

To be secure in the knowledge that each can talk with the
other and show their innermost soul and know it will be safe
and valued

When two hearts know that what is between them is a shiny,
wonderful thing and full of sweetness

When two persons take such delight each in  the
other's company that the rest of the world and its
cares are forgotten for the moments they are together

When two persons care enough for that which is between them
that they willingly work to keep it shiny

Joy Moments...

A neat thing happened at work today.

I was doing one of the many tedious jobs that my work requires, thinking about nothing in particular, when suddenly I had a new idea for a play. I got that little tingly sensation in my stomach that you get when something great is about to happen.

Then..., I thought, "Well..., maybe... it's not as good as... I think. I'll run it by Susie".

I went out front and told Susie the idea.

She jumped on it right away and said something like, "Yeah, that would be fun...and of course you have to have the big gruff station manager guy...."

Then Susie went on to describe him. We bantered back and forth about characters and what they would do. All during this exchange Susie kept asking me stuff about writing plays.

Things like, "How do you know where to start?...Where do you get your ideas...?"

So..., I'm explaining to her that what I did with the last play was exactly what we were doing, saying. "You know, figure out the type of people that would be in the scenario. Then once you get your characters down, you come up with situations for them to be in. Like that."

I said that she was - in fact - helping me to start writing this new play.

Then Susie says "Well..., I don't know how you figure out what they're going to say an’ all that. Like how to put it down so it works?"

Five minutes later..., we're still... throwing ideas around and Susie says, "So..., she'll have to say something like, ' How dare you !' and slap the guy in the face!"

I walked over to her and said,"You just wrote dialogue."

Susie says, "'Well, that's not exactly what she'll say... in the... the... play?"

"No," I answer, "... but you have to start somewhere. Thank you for giving me a start."

The look on Susie’s face was priceless.

When Susie realized that there was no magic bean, no fairy godmother, no special expertise required.....that she had everything it takes to write a play..., it made me feel like a million bucks... that I was able to show someone that she was even more than she thought she was...that she had something she didn't know she had.

I don't know about Joy but, that felt pretty good.

I told Susie to keep a pad of paper with her for any more ideas. Susie figures there won't be any. I think she's wrong. Susie'll see something in the next couple of days and think, "That would be funny in the play."

...I'd bet my royalties on it..
