"SANDY PHILLIPS"

Sandy is a long-time resident of Texas. She is an artist, a writer, an editor, and a dear friend. Sandy's paintings span gorgeous, detailed, authentic Texas landscapes complete with longhorns, to lovely floral studies. She likes bright vibrant colors. The Texas sky at daybreak or nightdrop ! And, has a passion for what is truly Texas! Her work decorates homes in both the U.S.A. and Canada. Sometimes you will see her commissioned "florals" part of a home decorators color and highlight scheme. Or, on other occasions, where the decor is authentic "Western" and the home owners want some "Real Texas" on their walls, too... Sandy's work does the trick.

Over her writing career, Sandy has worked on, and/or done freelance writing for, several newspapers in her area: The Fairfield Recorder, Corsicana Sun, Palestine Herald, Mexia Daily News, and Dallas Times Herald. During these sojourns she wrote news reports, feature stories, editorials, stringer reports and book reviews.

Sandy has written numerous stories and poems for leading childrens' magazines like: Humpty Dumpty, Jack and Jill, Scholastic Magazine, Calling All Girls, Young Miss, Child Life, Children's Playmate, Weekly Reader and a variety of church school publications.

Today, along with her other passions and pastimes, she is a freelance editor aiding up-and-coming writers with manuscript development and presentation, general understanding of the publishing industry, and answering the proverbial question of the beginner, "Where do I go from here?"

And if that isn't enough, Sandy is busily writing her own novel for the juvenile reader and developing her own picture book brainstorms into real life, saleable manuscripts.

Hey, Sandy, you can take a breath, now! Busy, aint she! Hey, but that be the case with most of my friends! Busy! Active! Creative! Dynamic people... living, to whatever extent they can, the life that revolves deep inside them. A life of creation, be it in a painting, a story, a song, or a poem, or... Good people to know... be around... Thanks for being one of the best, Sandy!
